Brazil’s Rio Grande Do Sul shortlists 12 companies in green hydrogen call

In the UK,  Fuel Cells Works repoirted that the government of Rio Grande do Sul state, in Brazil, has qualified 12 companies to proceed to the third round of the public call under the state’s Green Hydrogen Production Chain Development Program.

Of the 16 proposals received, 12 are eligible to move on to the next phase of the process. In addition to the four projects that had already been approved—Tramontina, Riograndense Oil Refinery, Begreen Bioenergy and Sustainable Fertilizers, and Âmbar Sul Energia S/A—eight other companies were deemed eligible after reviewing the resources: BE8 SA, Leal Consulting and Innovations, Sandero Chemical Industry and Commerce, RenoBrax Renewable Energy Campaign, Infravix Engineering, Verdhe Hydrogen Engineering, Rodoplast Plastic Components Industry and Commerce, and RD Locações.

The next steps outlined in the notice will be the technical and economic-financial capacity analyses of the counterparts, to be carried out by the Specialized Technical Committee and Badesul, respectively.

The aim of the call for proposals is to boost the green hydrogen production chain in Rio Grande do Sul, enabling the production, transmission, storage, and use of this sustainable fuel, according to the report.
