In Brazil, Portal do Agronegocio reported that consulting firm AgResource estimated that Brazil’s soybean harvest for the 2024/25 cycle will reach a record 172.28 million tons.
In January, the consultancy’s forecast pointed to a production of 172.07 million tons for the country. According to AgResource, the scenario for the 2024/25 soybean harvest is promising, with emphasis on productivity in the fields of Mato Grosso and Goiás, which have a good quantity of pods and a potential for record yield, according to the report.
However, the consultancy also mentioned the challenges faced by some regions, as the drought affected areas in the south of Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul, negatively impacting production.
