In Brazil, Valor reported that the first sustainable aviation fuel production units in Brazil are expected to enter commercial operation by 2027. The report noted that the most advanced projects are from Petrobras , Acelen and Refinaria de Petróleo Riograndense (RPR) However, several industrial groups have already announced that they are developing initiatives to enter this market, including Copers, the report added. Petrobras has already started implementing a first biorefining plant at the Presidente Bernardes Refinery (RPBC) in Cubatão (SP), with an expected production of 15,000 barrels per day (bpd) of SAF and renewable diesel (HVO). The expected inputs are vegetable oil and animal fat, the report added.
