April 14, 2025 |

In Brazil, Bioenergy Research Laboratory (Labioen), a research complex focused on innovation in the bioenergy and biomaterials sector, has just started operating at Unicamp. Labioen is expected to contribute to the development of technologies that meet the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ceremony took place this Thursday (3), at Labioen’s facilities.

Integrated into the Interdisciplinary Center for Energy Planning (Nipe), the complex was installed in an area of 6 thousand square meters located in the old Technology Center building, renovated and adapted for the new functions. Divided into two buildings measuring 3 square meters each, the space has multi-user laboratories, classrooms, a teachers’ room and an auditorium, integrating with the Bioenergy Pilot Plant (PPBioen), a high-ceilinged building suitable for pilot-scale experiments.
