Brazilian agribusiness end 2025 with 23 biomethane plant under construction or online

In Brazil, the Globo Rural newspaper reports Brazilian agribusiness ended 2025 with 23 biomethane production units from waste under construction or already completed and waiting for authorization from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) to operate. These industries will make the sector practically double its installed biomethane production capacity in the country, according to data collected from the agency.

The new projects have jointly an installed capacity 688,001 cubic meters per day. Currently, the country has eight biomethane plants linked to the agricultural sector, which have combined capacity to produce 355,900 cubic meters per day.
