Brazil to test E30 blending

December 26, 2024 |

In Brazil, Datagro reports that a meeting coordinated by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) approved on December 18 the test protocol to assess the technical feasibility of increasing the 30% anhydrous ethanol blend in gasoline (E30). According to the regulation, the tests will be conducted by the Mauá Institute of Technology (IMT), between January and February 2025, according to the established schedule. Currently, the anhydrous ethanol blend content in gasoline is 27%. The final report with the results must be delivered by the end of February so that the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) can then conduct the E30 stability tests. “We are following the E30 test plan, in accordance with the guidelines of Minister Alexandre Silveira [Mines and Energy], who determined that measures that help promote the energy transition be accelerated”, said the National Secretary of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels, Pietro Mendes.
