In Brazil, the National Council for Energy Policy (CNPE) published on Tuesday the resolution that sets the annual mandatory targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions for fuel sales for the 2026–2035 decade, strengthening the National Biofuels Policy (RenovaBio) as a central instrument of Brazil’s energy transition. The measure establishes a consistent decarbonization path for the fuel sector, with a projected reduction by 2035 of 11.8% in the carbon intensity of the fuel mix compared to the level observed in 2018.
