In Brazil, Band News reported that Brazil reached a historic milestone in grain production in 2025, with 346.1 million tons, according to data released by IBGE.
This is the largest volume since the beginning of the historical series of the Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production, in 1975, according to the report.
Production recovered after the drop in 2024, when climatic factors, especially in Rio Grande do Sul, reduced the harvest to 292.7 million tons. In comparison, the 2023 production had been 316.4 million tons, it added.
The growth is due to a combination of increased planted area and productivity gains. In 2025, the harvested area was 81.6 million hectares, 3.2% more than in 2024.
