In Brazil, the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) approved financing worth R$ 950 million for Inpasa Agroindustrial S/A to build its 6th biorefinery in Brazil, destined to the production of anhydrous and hydrated ethanol from the grinding of corn, sorghum and other grains, in Luís Eduardo Magalhães, in the West of Bahia.
With R$ 350 million from the Climate Fund and R$ 600 million from the Finem line, the unit will have the capacity to process, annually, up to 1 million tons of corn, 498 million liters of ethanol, 248.9 thousand tons of DDGs (d ried distillers grains – co-product of ethanol production from corn, rich in protein), 24,862 tons of vegetable oil and 185 GWh of electricity. Production will reach maximum capacity from 2027.
