In Kenya, Bloomberg reports Bleriot Group is producing sustainable aviation fuel from croton seed oil grown on 6,000 acres formerly used by a mining company that depleted the ore and is no longer apt for growing food crops. It is producing 28 metric tons of fuel annually as part of its prototyping stage that it is seeking to scale up to supply Kenya Airways and other African and European airlines. Kenya Airways is currently flying from Nairobi to Paris this week on a SAF mixture using Bleriot’s fuel.
