In Brazil, Noticias R7 reported that the combination of favorable weather conditions and advances in soil-focused biotechnology led Brazil to yet another record soybean harvest.
According to the 10th survey of the 2024/2025 harvest by the National Supply Company (CONAB), production is expected to reach 169.5 million tons—a 14.7% increase compared to the previous cycle. Average productivity also reached historic levels, with an estimated 3,560 kg per hectare.
One of the main drivers of this performance was the increasing use of bioinputs, especially microorganisms that are beneficial to the soil, according to the report.
According to CropLife Brasil, the use of these biological inputs increased by 13% in the current harvest, with soybeans responsible for 62% of adoption.
Among the technologies gaining prominence is Soil-Plex Active, from Alltech Crop Science, developed through fermentation and aimed at strengthening soil microbiota. The product provides microbial metabolites and organic molecules that stimulate biological nitrogen fixation, root growth, and soil balance, resulting in healthier, more productive plants.
