In Italy, Biorig, the renewable gases division of Solarig, announced the expansion of its biomethane business in Italy. The company plans to invest more than 300 million euros in the country by 2030 for the development and operation of more than 20 biomethane plants that will achieve an annual production of around 1 TWh/year (90 million cubic meters per year), equivalent to the consumption of 360,000 Italian households.
Biorig is expanding its developments internationally for the first time to become one of the main players in the production of biomethane in Europe, with more than 20 projects under development in Spain that will generate around 3 TWh/year of clean energy, to which the projects in Italy have now been added.
