In Argentina, La Nacion reported that the Rosario Grain Exchage (BCR) said that Argentina’s 2024/25 corn crop is expected to reach 48 million tons, down from a previous estimate of 50-51 million tons, due to the impact of a drought.
In its monthly grains report, the BCR said its estimate for 2024/25 soybean production would also be lower than its December estimate of between 53 and 53.5 million tons due to adverse weather, although it did not specify a figure.
“Unfortunately, extreme temperatures, low relative humidity, days of continuous winds and radiation with values (…) also extreme have aligned negatively at the most critical moment for early corn,” said the Exchange.
