BBGI signs microalgae SAF MOU with Advanced Biocarbon

In Thailand, BBGI Public Company Limited, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and Advanced Biocarbon Co., Ltd., has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote microalgae cultivation for the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and animal feed from microalgae waste.

This collaborative project aims to integrate the potential of the public and private sectors in research, development, and further development of microalgae cultivation technologies, ranging from crude oil extraction from microalgae, to the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), to the development of animal feed from waste materials. This initiative aims to reduce waste, create added value, and elevate Thailand’s bioenergy industry to international standards. In addition to research and development, the collaboration includes the establishment of a joint working group, market analysis, investment management, and the creation of a sustainable business model. The project is expected to last five years.
