BBGI signs microalgae SAF MOU with Advanced Biocarbon
This collaborative project aims to integrate the potential of the public and private sectors in research, development, and further development of microalgae cultivation technologies, ranging from crude oil extraction from microalgae, to the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), to the development of animal feed from waste materials. This initiative aims to reduce waste, create added value, and elevate Thailand’s bioenergy industry to international standards. In addition to research and development, the collaboration includes the establishment of a joint working group, market analysis, investment management, and the creation of a sustainable business model. The project is expected to last five years.
Dechapon Lertsuwanroj The CEO and President of BBGI Public Company Limited stated, “Sustainable aviation fuel is the future of the aviation and clean energy industries. BBGI is committed to leveraging its biotechnology expertise to collaborate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and Advance Biocarbon to drive Thailand’s bioeconomy.” Meanwhile, Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, emphasized, “This collaboration will advance modern agricultural research and create opportunities for farmers and the industrial sector to advance environmentally friendly commercial production.”
