In Brazil, Bank of Brazil and the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of developing a line of credit aimed at climate change mitigation projects, focusing on the biofuels and energy transmission sectors. The initiative seeks to boost investments that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the use of clean energy and strengthening global energy security. The partnership was formalized in the framework of BB’s participation in the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (COP30), held in Brazil, and marks an important step in the expansion of sustainable financial mechanisms between the two countries.
