In Singapore, the Manifold Times reported that Thai energy firm Bangchak Sriracha announced the delivery of its first load of B24 marine biofuel at Laem Chabang Port, Sriracha, Chonburi.
A total of 470 metric tons of B24, produced at Bangchak Sriracha Refinery, was supplied to NYK Line’s car carrier IRIS LEADER.
The company has been certified under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC EU) standard for the production of B24 marine biofuel and officially began supplying sustainable marine biofuels to customers.
“The new product has already attracted strong interest from shipping companies, particularly those from Japan,” the Thai firm added.
The report noted that the B24 marine biofuel consists of 24% UCOME (Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester) blended with 0.5% very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO).
