February 27, 2025 |

In the UK, Fuel Cells Works reported that the German state of Baden-Württemberg has unveiled a substantial funding initiative to support the development of green hydrogen projects.. The program, backed by $105 million, is designed to significantly advance the production and local infrastructure of hydrogen energy. Under the new subsidy scheme, electrolyzer-based hydrogen production projects can apply for funding until May 15, 2025. Each project can receive a maximum of $10.5 million. The funding is set to cover up to 45% of eligible investment costs, with additional incentives provided for smaller businesses, according to the report. This financial support is part of the Funding for Electrolyzers (ELY) program, managed by the Karlsruhe Project Management Agency and endorsed by the German Ministry for Environment, Climate, and Energy Economy (BMWK). The program is especially focused on the development of hydrogen hubs, which are critical for creating efficient production and consumption networks, it added.
