Axegaz and Cargill successfully liquify biomethane in Baltic port

In Lithuania, AXEGAZ T&T and Cargill have successfully liquefied biomethane and transferred the resulting BioLNG from KN Energies’ Terminal in Klaipeda onto one of AVENIR’s small- scale LNG vessel for further distribution as a sustainable bunker fuel in the Baltic region.

AXEGAZ T&T coordinated the operation together with its key partners: LNG Terminal KN Energies, biomethane supplier Cargill and bunkering vessel operator AVENIR – to ensure safe and compliant handling and transfer of the bio-LNG. This operation marks an important step in the companies’ efforts to expand their operational footprint to include the Baltic, building on their existing presence in Eastern European markets.
