In Singapore, Manifold Times reports Arkas Bunker announced it had delivered a second supply of its “Bio24F” biofuel to shipowner Yang Ming, following a successful initial delivery in November. Seçkin Gül, General Manager of Arkas Bunker, described the milestone as “a significant milestone for us” that “reflects the positive outcomes and satisfaction with the fuel’s performance from the first supply.”
Arkas Bunker introduced Bio24F in May 2024 with a delivery to Arkas Line’s container vessel Matilde A. The company, which received its ISCC Certification earlier this year, is the first in Türkiye to offer Bio24F in marine fuels. Gül noted, “We have noticed that using Bio24F not only helps shipowners reduce their carbon tax obligations under the EU Emissions Trading System but also significantly cuts CO2 emissions.”
Highlighting the company’s sustainability efforts, Gül stated, “While using the biofuel we named Bio24F on Arkas Line vessels, we are also offering it to other shipowners. Together with our experienced colleagues and business partners, we continue to work relentlessly on biofuels. We stand by all our shipowners with special solutions for their vessels to reach cleaner seas in their sustainability journeys.”
