In Argentina, Reuters reported that Argentina’s 2024/25 soybean yields continue to be higher than expected, according to a report by the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BdeC).
The report noted that harvesting efforts for the grain are still behind the five-year average.
The Stock Exchange currently estimates that Argentina’s production of the oilseed at 50 million tons.
“Despite the harvest delays, higher-than-originally expected yields continue to be observed, especially in the southern and western agricultural core of Buenos Aires province,” the BdeC said report, noting that 88.7% of the planted area has been harvested so far.
Excessive humidity caused by heavy rains in recent months, which has delayed the soybean harvest, is also delaying the 2024/25 corn harvest and the 2025/26 wheat planting in the country, it added.
