In Argentina, Bichos de Campo reported that the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange confirmed its projected soybean harvest of 48.6 million tons.
This follows the improvement in the second-season soybean crop, following weather events that called into question the crop’s condition in several regions,
In the last week, the area of Argentine soybeans still standing in fair to poor condition decreased by two percentage points, while the national harvest has already covered 4.9% of the suitable area, 26 percentage points behind the average of the last five seasons.
“In turn, 52% of second-season soybeans have already entered the physiological maturity period, while the remaining 48% are between R4 and R6 under optimal humidity conditions, positively impacting yield components,” the Grain Exchange report stated.
