Argentine grain exchange cuts soybean, corn production estimates

February 16, 2025 |

In Argentina, La Nacion reported that the country’s soybean and corn harvest has already shrunk by an equivalent volume, between both grains, to 11 million tons, due to the drought of the last 30 days, in addition to high temperatures.

The Rosario Grain Exchange (BCR), estimated the soybean harvest at 47.5 million tons. This is a reduction of 5 million tons after having predicted 52.5 million tons last September, before the start of sowing the crop.

In the case of corn, the entity indicated that the harvest of the cereal will be at 46 million tons. This is 2 million tons less than last January and 6 million tons less compared to the first estimate of last September.
