In Argentina, the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange reported that soybean planting has been completed nationwide, following a week-on-week progress of 0.8 percentage points.
Despite recent rainfall, the adequate to optimal soil moisture level has improved by only 3 percentage points, according to the exchange. As a result, 72% of the planted area remains in normal to excellent crop condition.
Meanwhile, corn planting for grain has reached 98.7% of the 6.6 million hectares planned for the current season, with a weekly advance of just 0.4 percentage points. The work was chiefly concentrated in the northern agricultural region, where sowing is expected to conclude by the first week of February, said the exchange.
