Argentina harvests its biggest soybean crop in six years

In Ukraine, UkrAgroConsult reported that Argentina’s soybean production for the 2024/25 season reached 49.9 million tons, up 3.5% from the previous season, according to the National Directorate of Agriculture’s June report.

The report noted that the harvest was the biggest in the last six years.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, reported that 17.8 million hectares were planted for the crop cycle, up 7.7% from the 2023/24 season.

In addition to the increase in planted area, yields were also outstanding, with first-plant soybeans averaging 3.06 tons/ha, exceeding the average of the last decade, according to the report.

The largest producers were the provinces of Buenos Aires (5,477,098 ha), Cordoba (4,504,864 ha), Santa Fe (3,367,950 ha), Santiago del Estero (1,415,045 ha) and Entre Rios (1,250,450 ha).
