In the UK, Fuel Cells Works reported that the Andalusian Energy Agency, part of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines of Andalusia, is leading a new European initiative under the name COMPiTE, designed to promote green hydrogen “as a key vector for the decarbonization of southern Europe”.
The project sits within the POCTEP Program for cross-border cooperation between Spain and Portugal and aims to create a structured collaboration between Andalusia and the Portuguese regions of Algarve and Alentejo that “promotes technological innovation and the use of renewable energies.”
According to the Andalusian Government, COMPiTE will rely on training activities, experience-sharing and knowledge transfer to reinforce employment and skills policies on both sides of the border. The Andalusian Energy Agency will analyze the energy context and policies of the participating regions “in order to identify opportunities for their industries related to green hydrogen and subsequently design a cross-border renewable hydrogen roadmap.”
