In South Korea, Amogy signed a multi-year manufacturing agreement with Samsung Heavy Industries to produce its ammonia to power systems, starting with units for a clean power project in Pohang in 2026. The deal expands an existing partnership focused on bringing ammonia based energy to ships and industrial sites.
Under the agreement, Samsung will build a dedicated facility for producing and testing the systems, which crack ammonia into hydrogen for use in fuel cells or engines. The design is modular and compact, aimed at powering vessels and distributed energy sites without carbon emissions.
“Samsung Heavy Industries has the world’s most advanced manufacturing and production capabilities,” said Amogy CEO Seonghoon Woo. “Partnering with them ensures we can scale up reliably and bring this technology to commercial use on both land and sea.”
The agreement follows Samsung’s investment in Amogy in 2024 and supports South Korea’s broader push to lead in hydrogen and ammonia energy innovation.
