ACWA Power teams with Snam to establish green hydrogen supply chain in Europe

In Italy, ACWA Power, a publicly traded company in Saudi Arabia recognized as the world’s largest private water desalination company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Snam to explore collaboration and joint investments to establish a green hydrogen supply chain in Europe.

Snam aims to build a pan-European multi-molecule infrastructure, promoting energy security and the transition to Net Zero. ACWA Power is a developer, investor and operator of green hydrogen and ammonia production plants in Saudi Arabia.

This partnership includes exploring potential collaborations and joint investments aimed at establishing an international supply chain for reliable and cost-effective delivery of green hydrogen from Saudi Arabia to Europe and evaluating the development of an ammonia import terminal in Italy to facilitate the delivery of green hydrogen through the SoutH2 Corridor, the 3,300 km long corridor that reaches Central Europe through Italy, Austria and Germany.
