In Brazil, Reuters reports Abiove expects the government to allow for a return to the planned biodiesel blending increase to 15% thanks to falling biodiesel prices. The government decided in February to keep the mandate at 14% due to high prices, which negatively impacted President Lula’s approval ratings. The industry has already increased crushing in anticipation of the change in blending, with Abiove hoping the news of the decision comes soon now that the supply and demand conditions are in place for such a shift.
