In Brazil, Toyota is celebrating the success of a new ethanol hybrid vehicle for exceeding all the manufacturer’s expectations. The car combines an electric motor and a flex variant that runs on gasoline and ethanol and is expected to hit the market within three years.

Steve St. Angelo, the carmaker’s CEO for Latin American and the Caribbean and its chairman in Brazil told Automotive News, “The soonest I can put it in production, I’m going to do it.” St. Angelo also said that the cost and investment into the new vehicle is “not a lot, it’s really just some tweaking and some calibration.”
