In Brazil, Raízen, one of the largest competitive bioenergy and ethanol companies in Brazil, completed the acquisition of Shell’s downstream assets in Argentina. The transaction was closed at $ 916 million and the company will inherit a network with 665 stations, a refinery, a lubricant plant, three land terminals, two airport supply terminals and a LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) plant.

The transaction represents an important expansion opportunity for Raízen, expanding and replicating its successful model implemented in Brazil, capturing logistics, marketing and financial synergies. The consolidation of this operation by Raízen took into account the long-term perspective in a structured market, asset quality, market knowledge of the local team and the strength of the Shell brand in the country.
