In France, Sicomin has earned the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Certified Bio based Product label for four of its products.
The company, a leading formulator of epoxy resin systems, will now be allowed to display a USDA label that highlights its percentage of biobased content, according to Composites World.
SR GreenPoxy 56 / SD GP 505V2 contains 52% biobased content, while the biobased contents of SR GreenPoxy 33 / SD 4999, SR GreenPoxy 56 / SD Surf Clear, and SR Surf Clear EVO / SD EVO MEDIUM come in at 26%, 36%, and 30%, respectively.
Verification of a product’s biobased content is done through the USDA BioPreferred Program, an initiative created by the 2002 Farm Bill to increase the development, purchase and use of biobased products.
