In India, the AGRI UDAAN – Food and Agribusiness Accelerator 2.0 was announced by ICAR-NAARM Technology Business Incubator, a-IDEA and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad’s incubator Center for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship. The program will help selected innovative startups to scale up their operations for effective improvements in agriculture.

Accelerators are 4 to 8 month programs aiming at scaling up innovative startups with a working prototype and initial market traction. This is done through education, mentorship and financing. Startups enter accelerators for a fixed period of time and as part of a cohort that is shortlisted by an evaluation panel including industry veterans, business experts and scientists. Four factors that make accelerators unique are fixed term, cohort based, mentorship driven and they culminate in a demo day.

AGRI UDAAN will reach out to agri-startups across the country with a series of road shows in Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata & Hyderabad.
