In Georgia, bioplastics maker Meredian Holdings Group has changed its name to Danimer Scientific and reverted back to its Danimer Scientific corporate logo in a “visual salute” to its origins.

Meredian Inc, and Danimer Scientific merged in 2014, and the combined company was rebranded Meredian Holdings Group. Danimer Scientific was founded in 2004, and in 2007 acquired the Nodax polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) brand from Procter & Gamble. The company operates two facilities and is planning an eight-fold expansion of its current PHA production capacity.

“The renewal of our corporate identity signals an exciting time for the company as we intensify our dedication to the development of dynamic biopolymer solutions, like our completely biodegradable PHA plastic for widespread commercial use,” says CEO Stephen Croskrey.

Nodax PHA is the first biopolymer to receive Vinçotte International ‘s OK Marine Biodegradeable certification. It has a total of six Vinçotte certifications for aerobic and anaerobic compostability and biodegradeability in soil, fresh water, salt water, and industrial and home compost.
