Acer unveils oyster shell laptop design

In Las Vegas, multinational electronics maker Acer has unveiled the world’s first laptop made from oyster shells. Dubbed Aspire Vero 16, the carbon-neutral design was unveiled at the recent Consumer Electronics Show and was named a CES Innovation Award 2025 nominee.

Specifically, the laptop has a chassis made from 70% post-consumer recycled plastic and biobased material. Like all new Acer designs, it is  equipped with an Intel® Core™ Ultra 200H series processors and built-in Intel® Arc™ graphics, engineered to scale accelerated AI performance and maximize efficiency.

“Acer is committed to pushing technological boundaries while maintaining our dedication to sustainability,” James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks, Acer Inc, said in a press statement.
