In Miami, educational toymaker Miniland has reported progress on its sustainability initiatives, including efforts to produce eco-friendly toys and games made of biobased materials.

Materials include reclaimed wood, fir fibers, bioplastic produced from sugarcane, and recycled materials. New toys include ECO Sensory Balls made of natural rubber and Towering Wood Stones made of Forest Stewardship Council wood.

“We are really proud of our efforts to become more eco-conscious,” Clara Roque, National Sales Manager for Miniland USA, tells toy industry media group aNb Media, Inc. “Climate change currently represents the greatest environmental, social, and economic threat to the planet. That is why Miniland has decided to take a step forward to support the planet and be one of the few Spanish companies that voluntarily calculates the Greenhouse Gas Emissions derived from its activity. In addition, this calculation is verified by an external audit company and registered in the National Registry of Carbon Footprint.”
