Reebok and National Geographic launch plant-based sneakers with endangered species designs

In the United Kingdom, Reebok and National Geographic have partnered on a collection of plant-based sneakers aimed at raising awareness of endangered species. 

The Club C 85 Vegan line includes 16 patterns dedicated to various endangered animals, including the Galapagos Penguin, Black Rhino, Eastern Gorilla, Ring-tailed Lemur and Fiji Banded Iguana. The Nano X2 Grow “Formidable Species” line is comprised of plant-based versions of Reebok’s Nano X2 training shoes. Available patterns include Grizzly Bear, Puffer Fish, Poison Dart Frog, and Scorpion. 

The Nano X2 Grow “Wild Cats”line is inspired by big cats, with upper designs depicting Tiger, Cheetah and Jaguar coats. 

While materials were not specified, previous Reebok plant-based materials include cotton, corn, castor beans, algae, natural rubber, and eucalyptus.
