In France, luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton and Nike have partnered on a sneaker that it is made from 90% recycled and “bio-sourced” materials.

Designed by the Virgil Abloh, a celebrated artist who recently died of cancer at the age of 41, the sneaker is available in green, red, and black. “Crafted in the Maison’s atelier in Fiesso d’Artico, Italy, the Louis Vuitton “Air Force 1” fuses the trainers’ original codes with the finest materials and insignia of the Maison,” according to Louis Vuitton’s website.

Most of the shoe’s outsole is made from recycled polyurethane, and corn-based bioplastic is incorporated into the upper. Shoelaces are made from waste plastic, and packaging is paper-based with vegetable ink.

Available starting July 19th, the trainers retail for  £1,940.00 (US$2,324.00).
