In Germany, adidas is attempting to lure sneakerheads away from Kanye West’s iconic, algae-based Yeezy line with a renewable sandal offering of its own.

Technology and culture publication Input Mag calls the new Adilette 22 slides “every bit as good as Yeezy’s” and “just about” as hard to acquire.

“The shoe’s aesthetic strays from Adidas’s existing range of slides, which tend to be decked with the brand’s traditional long striped branding, and opts for something more utilitarian and Yeezy-like,” according to the review.  “Instead of a sporty construction and obvious Adidas logos, the exterior features terrace-like sculpting that makes it a weird, but hot, statement shoe.”

Made from an undisclosed renewable material, adidas says the slides are 3D printed and feature a silhouette meant to invoke the Martian landscape. They will be available June 23 on adidas’s website for a modest $55, although Input Mag warns resale will reach $200.
