In New Jersey, the husband and wife team behind 4eSync is launching a line of disposable tableware made from the leaves of the Arecanut tree.

The plates, bowls, trays, and spoons are “stylishly elegant,” sturdy, microwaveable, and free of additives and colors. The company has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund roll-out.

“We are seeking to reach out to like-minded people who care about the large and growing amount of waste that we generate as a nation,” says partner and cofounder Christine Corbett. “Offering biodegradable and compostable tableware is our way of providing a viable and eco-friendly option that is available to everyone.”
