In New York, assistant professor at Cornell University’s Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Ankur Singh, received the 2017 Young Investigator Award from the Society for Biomaterials. He received the award for his achievements in biomaterials research, specifically for his work at Cornell’s Immunotherapy and Cell Engineering Laboratory where he has been researching and developing biomaterials for living tissues for immunology and pathology uses.
The award Singh received includes a cash prize and getting a paper published in the Journal of Biomedical Materials Research or Applied Biomaterials. He also recently won the National Science Foundation CAREER award and is chair of the Immune Engineering Special Interest Group at the Society for Biomaterials.
