Panama investing $2M in biodiesel plant

In Panama, the government is investing $2 million in a 10,000-liter per day biodiesel plant in Colon province that is set to go online during the first trimester of 2011. The facility, developed a Brazilian biofuels research consortium, will use locally-produced palm oil and used cooking oil as feedstocks. More on the story.

US ethanol production, reserve stocks dip, says RFA

In Washington, the Renewable Fuels Association says that weekly production of ethanol dropped during the week ending Sept. 24 to 825,000 barrels per day, down from the previous week’s 850,000 bpd and the four week average of 856,000 bpd.
