Battelle, Emery partner for commercial bio-based polyols

In Ohio, Battelle Memorial Institute and Emery OleoChemicals have entered a licensing agreement for Emery to commercialize Battelles patented process for polyols to produce adhesives, both rigid and flexible foams, and polyerethane coatings.  Battelle conducts research funded by the United Soybean Council and the Ohio Soybean Council.

DDCE taps Nevada, Iowa for cellulosic biofuels plant

In Iowa, DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol has decided to site its next generation biofuel facility near the town of Nevada next to the Lincolnway Energy ethanol plant. Cellulosic ethanol production from 300,000 dry tons of corncobs and leaves and stalks annually is seen coming online in 2013 after up to 18 months of construction time.
