Groundbreaking of Red River Biorefinery set for this week
In North Dakota, officials will break ground on the Red River Biorefinery Wednesday in Grand Forks that will produce ethanol from half a million metric tons of sugarbeet waste annually with the intention of selling the fuel into the California and Canadian markets where low GHG fuels provide a higher return. The facility is expected to come online by winter 2019. Local government supplied tax relief as well as an $80 bond for building the project.
