Brazilian center-south hydrous ethanol sales passed 1 billion liters in March
In Brazil, sugarcane producers union UNICA said hydrous ethanol sales hit 1.06 billion liters during March while another 899 million liters was anhydrous was sold, both figures accounting for just the center-south region. Of the total, near 82 million liters were meant for export. Production started early for some mills ahead of the traditional April 1 start date, producing a total of 326.89 million liters during the second half of March, of which 245.49 million liters was hydrous. Corn ethanol production for the 2016/17 period reached 234.15 million liters.
