RME on its way out in Europe with summer spec gaining traction
In the Netherlands, winter seems far behind with only sunny skies ahead, leading biodiesel buyers to focus on summer spec FAME 0 biodiesel with its higher Cold Filter Plugging Points and leave the lower CFPP rapeseed-based biodiesel behind in gray, cold winter. The spread between the two biodiesels are currently at eight-month lows but physical trade saw a premium of $20/ton above the $18/ton spread once. The premium isn’t expected to last long, however, as bearish sentiments toward RME continue.
