In India, Data M Intelligence reported that the global waste-to-energy market reached $135.22 billion in 2025 and is expected to reach $252.96 billion by 2033, growing at a CAGR of 8.1% during the forecast period 2026-2033.
“Growth is driven by increasing demand for sustainable waste management and renewable energy solutions amid rising urbanization and waste generation,” the research finds.
Europe leads with 35% share driven by stringent environmental regulations, advanced waste management infrastructure, and high adoption of waste-to-energy technologies. Asia-Pacific holds a 30% share supported by rapid urbanization, increasing waste generation, and growing investments in sustainable energy solutions, according to the research firm.
Meanwhile, North America accounts for 20% share due to technological advancements and established waste management systems.
