Anec projects shipments of up to 8.5 million tons of soybeans this month
In Brazil, Compre Rural reported that the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec) updated its export projections for August, indicating a volume between 7.80 million and 8.50 million tons of soybeans, with an average of 8.15 million tons applied in the calculations.
The volume represents a 32.4% decrease compared to the 12.02 million tons shipped in July, but remains 2.2% above the 7.98 million tons exported in August 2024, reflecting the typical seasonality of the oilseed.
For corn, Anec estimates shipments of between 7.16 million and 8 million tons in August, with an average of 7.58 million tons. If confirmed, the volume will represent a 61% increase compared to the 4.71 million tons exported in August last year, signaling the beginning of the export window for the second-crop cereal, according to the report.
