bp pulls out of $625M hydrogen and renewable fuels Kwinana conversion
In Australia, BoilingCold reports that after three years of development, bp has put it’s A$1 billion hydrogen and clean fuel projects at Kwinana refinery on hold, likely due to the country’s lack of a biofuel mandate. The company has decided to “recycle” their current plans for H2Kwinana and Kwinana Renewable Fuels with contractors and employees advised of the decision last week, with some redundancies expected. An investment for an A$80 million hydrogen production unit had already been ordered from Tecnip.
