Researchers say using forest for biofuels would increase emissions
In Oregon, new research from Oregon State University shows that producing biofuels from forests on the West Coast could increase greenhouse gas emissions by 14%, and that’s even under the best circumstances.
The only way that the study said producing biofuel was a good idea was in high fire risk areas due to insect or disease infestations where the wood was cleared and processed into energy.
