ReSource Chemical aims to decarbonize the $620B plastics sector with proprietary chemistry converting inedible biomass and captured CO2 into FDCA, the building block of PEF. Backed by Khosla Ventures and Chevron, ReSource slashes the conventional FDCA production route by 70% down to 20 steps. PEF provides 10x oxygen and 15x carbon dioxide barrier improvements over PET while dropping seamlessly into existing mechanical recycling streams. The company also monetizes 2-furoic acid (FA) to de-risk commercial scale-up.
